My Yorkie, Savannah, went into heat at 7 months. She is now 16 months old. I have been keeping an eye on her because I want to breed her, but she has not bled or been swollen since the 7 month old heat. At that time, she bleed for almost a month (not heavily) and was swollen longer than that. I'm concerned that she might be a rare dog that only goes in heat once a year, but I have heard of dogs not bleeding after their first heat, but still being in heat. Any suggestions or anyone had experience of a Yorkie going so long between heat cycles?
