I have no knowledge of any home remedies. The absolute best option is to do a fecal test and see exactly what the dog has, that way you can treat for specific parasites. Are they little white, rice looking worms? If so, it's most likely tapeworms.
I know your brother is running short on money but it's a worthwhile expense. Some parasites can be passed from dogs to humans. A fecal test should only cost around $10 and then the treatment shouldn't be much more than that. Franklin had tapeworms, roundworms, hook worms AND coccidia when we first got him and the treatment all together was only $55. That included a $25 dollar office visit. I can imagine you could bypass the office visit and just bring in a fecal sample and then get whatever medication is needed. |
