Sometimes when I get that frustrated, I try to change the focus from the bad stuff to the good stuff. Like Coby got a pen off the desk today that he just would not give up. I REFUSED to chase him. He has to learn to give things up immediately in case it's something dangerous. So instead of scolding for something wrong, I reward for the change of direction. If he drops the pen, he immediately gets a treat.
With my older dog in training, I asked the trainer if that wasn't really just teaching them to do something wrong in order to get a treat for stopping the bad behavior. I KNOW that they are smart enough to figure that out!

She said to just be very clear that you're treating for the good behavior.
That just helps me not dwell on the negative behavior.
