I think some of us need to be reminded that animals are not here for our entertainment.
So why would you say that they are here? Are they not here to provide us with food? Are they not here to remind us of how magnificent our Creator is in the variation and wonder of His creations? Are they not here to help us and in return enjoy our protection and affection? Having a pet is an honor and responsiblity that should not be taken lightly but God forbid it should be taken away! Selective breeding has given us beautiful animals that are of the size and temperment to fit our individual tastes and lifestyles. It should always be done with the animals welfare in mind working to create a healthy, happy breed. I disagree that animals would be better off without selective breeding, nature would and in the wild does cause selective breeding by survival of the fittest. It is a harsh cruel world out there and pets bring beauty and love into it.
