I love their monthly magazine (I give it as Xmas presents every year) and you might enjoy it also. It is not just about domesticated animals either. My sister loves hawks so every year I sponsor one in her name.
Many people do not know that Best Friends was one of the first rescue's in Katrina and one of the last to leave. They do a tremendous job of working with legislation and they do it in a non-confrontational way as opposed to PETA.
Here are a couple of books about them. I can't find the original book that I picked up but I will look for it.
