To start, I grew up with German Shepards and would always let them run loose (on a field etc) and never worried about them taking off. We had a male Yorkie for 15 years that we had to put down last year and I never let him really run loose. I was always petrified of him taking off. We just adopted a 7 month old female Yorkie and I am looking for some feedback regarding letting her run loose on occasion. Are Yorkies wanderers? Can I expect her to stay close to us and not fear her taking off?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
