If she's 6 years old now, my personal opinion is that she should not be bred again. I really think 2-5 years of age are the best years for breeding, and I think the 5th year/possibly early part of 6th year should be the last time they are bred. Six years of age is really old to be having a first litter as well...bitches should really be bred for the first time before 3 years of age before the pelvic symphysis calcifies. My opinion is that she should be spayed and you should start with a younger bitch.
