That is the truth! It is terribly sad, and I think I agree that the boy should do some nice 'outdoor' community service work. Although, I do believe it is totally the mother's fault. I have a very responsible 14 year old son, but I would not trust him to care for my puppies lives. He can feed them and give them water, but it is not up to him to make sure they are fed - it is mine. He forgets many of his chores and does not have a pet of his own.
