ahh.. yeah they said he would have had kidney failure if they went into surgery so i'm relieved for that.. but i just question if the antibiotics and special food is necessary.. they said it's recommended.. and i don't want to get it if it's not necessary.. i mean they said it's a low protein diet.. my baby eats everything so i'm sure i can get him to eat whatever is low protein.. plus he loves veggies.. either that or i can always ask YT members on low protein meal ideas.. =]

I am not sure what the antibiotics are supposed to do (I know more about livers than kidneys

), but I would definately be doing what they say because kidney problems aren't good at all.
I hope it's nothing serious and this is a perfect example of why preop bloodwork should be done.
But if it is just BUN and it is just slightly elevated, that could happen from dehydration or maybe a high protein meal, so it might not be anything serious.
