every puppy sold in a pet store is from a puppy mill. No doubts about it.
No private breeder would need to sell their "stock" this way.
Pet stores typically pay about 1/4 of the price they ask for the pets they sell. A $1000.00 puppy would cost the store abotu $250.00.
Why would any breeder sell to a puppy store? Only if they are a mill.
Also pet stores deal in volume, and no private breeder could produce the amount and variety of pets for a store all by themselves.
Puppy mills have several breeds, and have on going contracts with pet stores.
Please read all about it on my website, as I got my info right from the U.S. HUMANE SOCIETY.
