Anypoo, their poos no longer really have a smell, they become realllly teensy (the food is used rather than just pooed out as filler), and they become very "powdery" - so that oftentimes, the poo just distintegrates back into the soil. And, importantly, rather than poos being soft and voluminous (often the case w/ kibble/canned food) - the poos are firm/hard - and they will empty the anal glands, as necessary as intended, while the dog is eliminating - thus avoiding alot of other problems.
Raw can be great for so many reasons - nutrition, overall health, coat, allergies, digestion, teeth - etc. etc. - so if you do some searching on here, you'll learn a lot. Here is a link to Natures Variety: http://www.naturesvariety.com/conten...DA4Chui2146CA0 |
Ah!!! Just the lady I was looking for!! I just started a search here on the benefits of raw. After the scare with Mango this week (thanks again for the brilliant solution)... I decided to investigate this Raw Diet, specifically the Nature's Variety. I just picked up a packet today of the lamb, and was reading the ingredients. My goodness! They sound like human food, no correction, they ARE human ingredients, not a fillier in sight that I could find.
Mango has always been a fussy eater. In order to tempt her to eat her Evangers kibble, I was coating it with their Cooked Chicken.... this after trying a variety of their canned food. So, instead of starting her on the kibble again, which she has not eaten now since Sunday, I am going to slowly introduce her to the raw, mixed in with her mashed potatoes (long story..... but them spuds saved her little furbutt

).
I am just SO happy I found this thread. I really think it confirms my decision.
