I want to share this story with you.

I have a secure fenced in back yard. I always watch the boys when they are out in the back yard. One day when I was standing at the sink doing dishes, i look outside and see a huge black lab in my back yard.
He was not neutered and had JUMPED MY FENCE. He was going from back yard to back yard by jumping fences. This happened about 5 times in one summer. I finally spoke to the owner and told him he should have the dog cut to curb his urge to wander or be more responsible to keep him in his own yard. I explained I have 2 dogs under 10 pounds and if he comes in my yard while they are out, bad things would happen.

I wanted to share this story with you to show you dogs aren't always safe in their own back yard. Please reconsider leaving him outside. I'm sure you could find someone that would be willing to gate them in the kitchen to keep them from pottying on the carpet.
