I've tried to back off a little on the thermometer thing since I'm thinking she hates me everytime I do it & probably hurts her little tush! (Even though I use lube). On her breeding, there was only 1 tie, so to calculate the days should be easy. I think I'll give her unitl tomorrow & then take her to the vet. She's ot really showing any signs, but then again, she didn't last time either. Last time I could tell she was having contractions & it was getting close though. It went so much faster last time though.... watching her like a hawk! Good luck to the other mommys to be too. I can't believe how many of us are on & just waiting. This anticipation is killing me! I want to read a good whelp story soon.
I have a female who RUNS when she hears that thermometer taken out.LOL I dont think it hurts as they just dont like it can you blame them 2-3 times a day.
I do think taking the temp is important for if it goes down and no progress to contractions after 24 hrs something needs to be done. I had a female whos temp dropped (it was a singleton litter) no contractions so 24 hrs later off to the vet,she was dialated all the way and a shot of oxy was given and we had a pup within a hour.If I would have not been taking her temp I would not have known she was in labor for she was eating no nesting and did not act like she was in labor at all ,she was playing with the other dogs also
A watched yorkie never whelps they say sometimes I feel it is true.
Jewels who is due next here dosent have many signs of labor either except the temp drop and she hides.Good luck
