I have had a couple people ask why I have a dog named "Johnny Cash" and a cat named "Johnny Coco Richelieu" (i.e. Why do they both have the same first name of "Johnny")...
I adopted the cat, "Johnny Coco Richelieu", shortly after losing my 13 year old cat to a neurological disease. He and his brother were advertised together through the Humane Society as "Frankie and Johnny". I was only prepared to adopt one cat. I had no intention of adopting Johnny because he looked too similar to my cat who had passed away. I planned to adopt his brother, Frankie. Well, I fell in love with Johnny the minute I saw him and decided to adopt him. However, I wasn't fond of the name at the time so I looked for something French (since I love France) and I picked "Richelieu", which is the name of the street I stayed on in Paris. Since noone could pronounce "Richelieu" correctly, I had to come up with something else. So I went for "Coco" (as in Coco Chanel). I planned to drop "Johnny", but one week after adopting him, my brother's 31 year old best friend (named John) died in a tragic car accident. We were all devastated. He had been just as close as a brother to me. I thought it ironic that the cat I just adopted was named "Johnny" in light of John's passing. So I kept the "Johnny" part of his name, in memory of John, but still call him "Coco".
Then along came Johnny Cash....we had picked out three names for him:
1) Johnny Cash
2) Lennon (after John Lennon)
3) Finn (after Neil Finn or my celtic ancestry)
When we picked him up, he was practically all black and we took one look at each other and said "There is no other name for this dog than Johnny Cash...the Man In Black"..so Johnny Cash it was!
