Manhattan or NJ would be great [for us atleast].. Manhattan might just not be convenient for drivers b/c of the parking $$.
There ARE plenty of beautiful parks in NJ--just right outside of Manhatten. Like Hoboken for instance.. Plenty of outdoors eateries, ppl watching and lots of small dogs.!
