If you're worried about pee smells, there is a product called Urine Erase. You can get it at pet stores. I've used it for cat urine before (and nothing is worse than that) and it gets rid of all smells and is non-toxic. I know this doesn't solve the training problem but it will get rid of any smells so the puppy doesn't know he used that spot before.
