We don't want to have to clean our carpets all the time. The point is to get him housetrained so that we don't have to worry about professionally cleaning the carpets every now and then or replacing carpet. We use a spray product that eliminates the odor. He doesn't potty in the same place over and over; it's always somewhere different.

I have not tried belly bands and don't know where to get them.
