I don't think you are strange at all
I knew Lucy was going to be a challenge with house training and guess what? She still has accidents but I don't freak out about it. What's more surprising is that Thomas doesn't freak out about it...We strive for perfection, but don't demand it.
Someone posted a poem/story about Yorkies feelings once and one of the lines was "If you get mad with me please don't ignore me for too long - after all, you are all that I have." That has always stayed with me...
