Yorkies do take a very long time to housetrain compared to other breeds I've owned in the past. I have a two year old and a one year old and I still have to be vigilant on getting them outside regularly because they don't always let you know.

I also have carpeting but we're having tiled installed this month on the entire downstairs floor just for yorkie purposes (and of course resell value in the future). I'd rather change the flooring then think of getting rid of my babies!

They're also full of boundless energy! Are you taking your baby Logan for long walks every day? He does need to have time to run around and use up that energy during the day. Is there a room with tiling you can block off to let him play in during the day instead of crating him so much?

I've found that my two usually do their "poo" on the first excursion out in the morning and after dinner during their long evening walk -- so about 12 hours apart. Knowing Logan's schedule will help get him outside when he needs to get his business done.

I know it can be frustrating at times but I hope you don't give up on your baby but if your husband is more worried about carpeting, perhaps a new home might be best for Logan because he will have accidents after a year old.
