I have two boys, it all started off with Chip though. He was a rescue and at the time he finally came to live with me he was around 1 1/2 - 2 years old. After a few months with him I thought he would do very well with a sibling. I took my time looking for one, since I wanted a teapot around the same age, size, tempermant, male, etc. One finally came available on YT, and he sounded like he would fit perfectly with Chip. It's been almost four months and they got along great right from the beginning. I'm so happy they've made such great brothers for each other.

Personally I think males are more about love and pleasing you. Females are more moody.
