I should have really thought about what I was typing instead of just sending it and looking stupid. One of my females has only had puppies once (Maggie) she is two years old, one of my females has had puppies twice(Lucy) she is three years old, and the other one(Scarlett) has had puppies four times and this is her last litter due to her age of being five. She will be spayed after this litter. All of my litters are going to be about three weeks apart from each other. I think that is plenty of time to spend on each litter to make sure everyone is doing great. By the time their eyes are open and they are moving around, I will be having another litter. I know that I am going to have to keep my eyes on them but they won't be so fragile and they will be moving all over. The only thing that I'm worried about is having so many puppies at once running all over the place but I have a big house and I good size yard so they will all be just fine! Also about my website, I made my own website because I am a stay at home mom with nothing else to do with my time. And I also know that I have my hands full in the next three months so I wanted to make sure to cover all the basics before my little ones come. So I am getting all my p's and q's in order before hand. |
Yes, you will have your hands full, to say the least. Right now I have 3 litters all born within 10 days of each other....never again!! Assuming none of your babies have health issues (and I hope they don't) you will get a little reprieve after the whelping until their eyes open and they start motivating around. Once they start eating and are old enough to be taken out for playtime, look out!! That's when you start being a slave to feeding, cleaning poop and grooming. It is more than a full time job. This will be a test to find out if you really love Yorkies or not!! Mine are now between 10 and 12 weeks old and are a handful. Three x-pen cleanings 3 times a day (at least), daily combings, nail trimming, trimming ear hair and foot pads on squirming puppies, shaving behinds and checking for stuck poo are just some of the joys you have to look forward to. Also, you have to be sure that all are eating well and you don't have a glutton taking all the smaller ones' food. And that's assuming all are healthy and none need any special care. Plus, they really have to be played with daily for proper socializing. I'm sure I'm leaving some things out but you get the picture. All that being said, mine give me such joy. It's an experience I wouldn't trade for the world but will never repeat. There is NO way I would have been ready for this my first time out or even the 3rd or 4th time for that matter. I've really had to get a game plan together and be as efficient as possible just to get the job done. Luckily, all mine are healthy because if I had any additional issues, I truly don't know if I could have handled it properly. Good luck to you....you Will need it!!
