Based on your responses it sounds like those of you with a "sanitation" cycle don't have the moldy smell issues. I'm tempted to sell these with the house and buy some with that sanitary cycle. When we bought these I thought I'd never need it... but I would love to have it for kitchen towels, etc.
I've tried vinegar, bleach, cleaning the rubber ring. It doesn't transfer the moldy smell to the clothes as long as you don't let them sit, so I just deal with it. I try to leave the door open too but I don't know how much that helps. They are in a tight hallway and I know it gets closed more than it should. |
