I have an 11 yr old female that was rescued and not house broken. I had the same problem, she would go outside and go pee on the floor and pooh when she came back in. What I did was pick up the pooh and and paper towel for the pee and put it close to the door. It took a day or two, but she started to go to the same spot where she had already peed, on the paper towel, with newspaper underneath, I kept making the paper smaller, and then took it outside still wet. Everytime I thought she had to go, I would put her outside and she went to the paper until she didn't need it anymore and started going on her own.
It seemed to work for me. Basically I kept moving the pee and pooh closer to the door and then out the door until she got the idea that that was were she was suppose to go. Now and then she has accidents but knows its wrong. I make her sit beside it until it gets cleaned up then straight outside again.
Hope that helps a little. |
