It's never too old to potty train. If he's shredding the puppy pad, spray bitter apple on the pad. IT WORKS!!! Or you can keep an eye on him and when he's doing his poopy dance, quickly grab him and put him on the pad. Or when you see he's about to rip up the pad, firmly say NO!!! and put him on time out. Trust me tough love is necessary. I spoil and love my Coco and would never hurt her or be mean to her...but she does get time outs. As a result of my tough love she has been potty trained since 4 months old. COnsistency is the key. When I first got her, I would take her to the bathroom every 30 minutes and sit in the bathroom with her. She knew that until she went on that pad, she could go NOWHERE! Yes she whined and didn't like it but soon figured out what I wanted from her. Then she figured out that as soon as she does her deed we go out and have lots of fun, so she caught on.
