I very much prefer long coats. The only yorkie I've ever thought looked better with shorter hair was my friend's dog...he has a cottony coat that is very curly and just poofs out like an afro when it starts to get long. So he looks much neater with a very short cut. But personally, I think yorkies look better with long hair (as long as the owner keeps them well-groomed)
