Hun, I've been wondering how she was doing....
I would take her to the vets. I really would. I dont know how big she is
But the smaller she is the worse as far as blood loss I'm sure.
And if I remember the other thread. A couple of the others were saying it may not be split heat, but something else....I cant for the life of me remember what. But I had never heard of it.
She isn't U're itty bitty Yorkie, we don't know what those kinds of Yorkies are in our house lol. She is U're what I call normal size, she weighed 6 lbs. 5 oz on Feb 11, 08 and yesterday I weighted her she was 6 lbs. 2 oz. which I think is okay for her length she is longer then our other Yorkies. & I measure all their food out every day.
Her blood loss is fine, I ask the Vet today and they said if she is just spotting small drops then she is okay, just watch her for a lot of bleeding. I want to thank U for U're thoughts!
I'd go to the vet too, or at least call to see if they think they should see her. I thought they could spot through out their 3 week cycle.... but if it is something else, you'd be better seeing the vet about it. Coco is still (6 weeks later) spotting after giving birth. Vet checked her blood levels and said she was not anemic, but thought if I weaned the puppies she would stop. I felt better having had her looked at just to be sure nothing else wrong.
I did call the Vet and they said she can spot for up to 2 weeks during their Heat Cycle. Thanks for U're thoughts,
It is probably a split heat but I would be very concerned about pyometra.
Is she lethargic at all?
I ask the Vet today about Pyometra and they said no they didn't think it was Prometra. No she's not lethargic at all, up and playing fine, acting like her normal silly self. Thanks for U're thoughts
If she is just dripping spots of blood every now and then I would not worry too much. I have had some females bleed heavily and drip while others don't bleed much at all. Some females just lick themselves a lot so you don't aways notice the blood. Pyometra usually can occurs 6 weeks after the heat cycle so I don't think you have to worry about that.
I don't think I have to worry about Pyometra either I looked it up and she doesn't have any mucus what so ever, she has no fever, not drinking any more then she always does, her eating is normal like she always eats and she is eating it all as always, nothing at all different about her just her spotting & that's it. I will keep what U have said above in mind tho I still have 2 more due to come into their 1st heats around June. Thanks for U're thoughts
This dog had been in heat about a month ago and then this started happening, so that is why I'm concerned...
It is probably a split heat but I would at least call the vet and see what they want to do.
Her heat was Feb 25th and now March 24th. Can I ask why this Pyometra concerns U so much? Have U had this happen to one of U're babies? Just wondering. Thanks for U're thoughts Quote:

Of course, if she is worried she should call the vet. I think she might have already done that. |
Thanks so very much and yes I did call the vet. I just wanted to see what U all thought and how long a Bitches bleeding could last. Our Vet said they can go 2 weeks bleeding during their Heat Cycle and if she didn't stop her spotting by next Tue to bring her in or if I something else came up bring her straight in, I do have very good vets. I do have to say any questions what so ever I ask they will answer & If they don't know they will find out for me. I love them to death. Thanks and I will keep in mind all U have to say, and I will be taking her next week to the Vet if she doesn't stop by then, I'll keep U updated on her
I was wondering if any of U know if her 1st time bleeding would be considered her 1st Heat Cycle and this time bleeding her 2nd Heat Cycle? Or since they are so close would I just count this as her 1st Heat Cycle? I don't know how to count it. I'm thinking just count it all as her 1st heat, I could be wrong on that tho. Any thoughts? What would U all count it as?
