I would change his food. Have you tried the food product call Halo (Spot's Stew). They say it is good for allergies, etc. Petco now sells it. I just started giving my little one Halo just for a change. Some dogs will start to show signs of allergies around the age of 2. If your vet thinks it could be allergies. I would suggest doing either blood work or the patch testing to make sure before he is placed on any meds. Because once on meds it is very difficult to get them off of them for the patch testing. I feel the patch testing will tell more then the blood work testing for allergies.
