As far as a de-worming protocol in puppies goes, I start mine at 6 weeks and every 2 weeks after that until 3 months old. Most things you read and many labels advise starting at 3 weeks, then weekly until 6 weeks, then every 2 weeks after that. The protocol I use has always resulted in a clear fecal. Even if a dam doesn't show worms, they can be present in the walls of her intestines and become active due to higher metabolism while pregnant so I worm the dam at 45 days in her pregnancy. I use Nemex 2 on both the dam and her pups and worm her when I worm the pups as long as they're nursing.
