I have been concerned over the same thing. One of my little schnauzers will be 13 in July. I am afraid to have her teeth cleaned anymore. My other one will be 11 in May. She has more problems with tarter than the other one. Then of course little Kayla (yorkie) is only 9mo. old. Haven't had any problems there yet. I have never given them bones but heard a raw bone is good for cleaning tarter off the teeth. I know you don't want to give bones that have been cooked, but I am just afraid of choking. I am more afraid of the anithesia though.
