I agree with ya. My daughter is the same way.(inherited from me) Here is what she does. She used to wait in one spot and watch the spider til hubby came home so she knew where it was for him to kill.
Now she has gotten braver. She will (from a small distance) get hair spray and spray the spider and run. Usually she gets a good coating on it and it will stiffen up and die.
