Squeekie does that to me too. She goes all around the house trying to find a hiding place for her favorite bone. But she knows exactly where she's hidden it. After noticing that she doesn't have her bone with her, I would ask her "where's your bone" or "mommy's ganna get your bone!". She would then immediately run to where she's hidden it (to check if its still there

) and finds another hiding spot for it.
Her other habits for her bone is she places it about 12 inches away from her, she then "pretends to sleep" and waits for her mom and dad (my two other yorkies) to come near her. When they do, she immediately head bumps them

while growling at the same time. To warn them to stay away from her bone.
Actually she doesn't head bumps her mom only her dad because her mom is the dominant of my three and her dad lets her get away with anything.
