Hi, does he get any excersise outside of the pen. You need to rake him out for long walks. As far as people entering the home have everyone come in the house do not look at the dog or acknowledge him, out of it's own curiosity the pup should come to check out the person. Once the dog has sniffed around the person in a calm manner than they may acknowledge the puppy in a calm way no high pitched voice that we all tend to get when talking to cute puppies.
