Oh, I'm so sorry; I was told once that if you have a blanket or something that smells like the older dog it helps the other one. I guess she is just grieving, and probably senses your sadness as well. I think how long you should wait is a very individual question, and some people need more time than others. My last lost pet was so traumatic we took several years off because I just did not want to go through that pain again. It was a lengthy illness. Since you have another dog, you may not want to wait as long because she might enjoy the company of another pet. I hope you all feel better soon.
