That happened to us. Hubby was on disability very early in the year. When we got the taxes done, I was soooo disappointed, we owed a lot. Then a couple days later I REMEMBERED. I had set money aside when he was on disability for the taxes. I had "hidden" it in our bank account and had forgotten all about it. I'm a good hider.
