Right now, I have 8 different paint samples hanging on the wall of my living room, just to see which color "grabs" me.... I have also done as someone above and painted a big piece of cardboard and tacked it to the wall(good thing cuz I tired of that color easily)
Popular colors are of the tan/taupe family, they go with most things... use the lightest color in your furniture, or your bed coverings, just stay in a neutral color hue.. you will do fine, Painters tape works wonders!
