All I can offer is that I prefer whining over barking.
Coby is learning to whine. While I don't "reward" it per se, I am quicker to respond than when he's barking, because I want him to be able to "talk" to me, but I hate barking. That's actually working with the barking. He's learning that a pitiful whine is at least a more lucrative
attempt on his part. Such a stinker.
