Since you rescued her from a puppy mill, she maybe never had a chance to jump and just doesn't know how. Thank goodness she's in a loving home now and I would bet she will start jumping eventually, but if she never does, at least you can know she'll keep her legs strong and healthy! |

You do not want her to jump. My vet said yorkies should not jump up or down onto or off of anything higher than their shoulder! You need to provide steps and ramps to the furniture. I have fshioned steps to my bed from a decorative ottoman and some decorative suitcases. I bought the foan steps for the kids beds and we use big pillows on the floor for the couch.
Please do not encourage your yorkie to jump. I had a miniature poodle that I let jump on and off my bed and when she got older she had terrible arthritis. I never forgave myself and it was awful seeing her in so much pain.
