I never had to have this done either, it a common problem with Yorkies though, they just don't always lose there teeth on their own. If you don't remove the milk teeth, it can cause permanent teeth to grow in improperly and become decayed because food gets trapped in between the two rows of teeth. This can lead to serious infection.
