I've had many rescue dogs over the years and if they come from a puppmill where they've spent years in a cage it will take time for them to develop the muscles required for jumping. She may never jump, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Rescue dogs tend to have delayed development so although she may be 4 years old in age she is but a puppy with much to learn about the real world. Given time she will probably discover that she can jump. I have one little guy who will jump up on the couch but he won't jump down off anything. He's six years old and we've had him for two years. I don't encourage him to jump as it's easier on his joints if he doesn't. |
