My babies go on pee pads in the garage when it's raining. I've even installed a doggie-door from the house to the garage. They seem to know when it's raining and that's where they go. However, they are both girls, so there is no leg lifting against stuff stored there. It's just that sometimes, when it rains for days in a row, this is just so convenient.
