Wow, this thread has twisted and turned.... I didn't get the impression that the poster was against competition....my understanding was they don't want to be a part of the rest of it. Since they didn't mention the competition (which is to be expected at any competitive sport) but instead mentioned the unethical treatment of animals and arrogant attitude of some people, I assumed this is why they chose not to be a part of it. I can't say as I blame them. I am not a part of the show world, so I really can't comment with any authority on how prevelent it is. However, there have been so many people (not just on here) comment about the undesireable attitudes, etc. that there must be at least some truth to it. Of course, I know it can't be that everyone is like that, but I can certainly understand how someone would choose not to be a part of that. No need to ridicule them for it, as it is a personal decision, and they have a right to express why they feel that way.

On the flip side, I think sometimes it is easy to forget that there are great show people out there, so by the same principle, those that do choose to show in an ethical and kind way should be treated with respect as well.

How about a truce?
