We decided to drive.. lol.. I mean it is only 1500 miles!!
Driving, gas would be about 250-300 round trip
hotels for 4 night appprox $520
food on trip approx $300
total about $1120
Then we decided that if we were going to drive, why not rent an RV... That way we could save the cost of staying in hotels for 2 nights each way.. BUT if we rented the RV for just the time to drive there and back, they would have charged us $27 per 100 miles just for mileage ($9000) PLUS the cost of the RV rental and gas.. But if we rented it for 2 weeks, we could get unlimited mileage for $785
So now it is only going to cost us
RV Rental (including the mileage charge) $4285 but we save the cost of motels on the way and can cook in the RV
gas (who knows how much!!) at least $400
stops at campgrounds.. around $300
total about $4985
THEN we are staying in the hotel in Kansas city.. plus the cost of the meetup.
LOL.. we could have flown cheapest..
But since we have the RV for 2 weeks, we are going to go thru Texas on the way home and meet my new grandson... AND BEST OF ALL, we can bring 4 yorkies with us!

Sounds lke it will be an adventure! I don't know if you know this, but Walmarts let RVs park overnight for free in their parking lots (so if you just need a place to park for the night, it maybe could save you some money!)
