I think socializing plays a major roll in their behavior. Get him out and about as much as humanly possible. Let people hold him, even the little kids.
Dogs who are afraid of people and animals are usually your barkers. Keep in mind that ALL dogs (except for the Basenji) will bark for one reason or another and it's usually when they think they have to defend their homes and masters or just excitiment at going somewhere. |
