well, first you need to wait until he is older at least a year. next you need to have him checked for Liver Shunt, Luxating Patella for sure. Some people check for other things but those are the two biggies. Then once he has checked out clear, you need to make sure any female that wants to breed to him is worthy of him. Check her pedigree also and do not breed him to just anything. make sure the female is tested a few days before breeding for STD even if she hasn't been bred before. Dogs can get Burcellouis by sniffing a dog that has it. I'm sure there is more but maybe others will chime in. |
