Any chew can obstruct or get stuck in the throat and any animal product can have bacteria in it.
I don't give any of it anymore because even when Ellie is supervised, once I see her bite a piece off, it is half way down her throat already. Maybe bully sticks would be different but after Diggy4's story, I'd be very cautious. After one hour of letting a dog chew on one and get it soggy, it would be in the trash.
I just avoid it all and give raw vegetables under supervision.
These sweet potato chews do look interesting though.
