I am not sure about shots for rescued yorkies...but whenever I have adopted a dog from the pound they would just start the shots from scratch.
So that schedule is probley about right.
What about doing a titer test? That will be able to show what shots if any he needs boosters on.
What does your vet say? |
I WANT to keep him. I just love him so much and can't imagine giving him up (unless of course the owner came forward), and after seeing him interact, I feel like he wasn't taken care of very well. He is much more inclined to lie on the tile floor than any of the many beds I have in every room, has NO idea what to do with a TOY....last night he finally picked up a small toy and took it into one of the little beds with him, but he doesn't really play with them. He doesn't understand when Max wants me to play with him and a toy...doing either the chase game or Max wants me to try to get the toy and then he tries to get it from me and we play tug of war with it til he wins and can shake the toy

. Little Madison just does not understand what's going on, but he's working on it.
Anyhow, I want to get him vaccinated b/c I don't know what he's had if anything and he's around my dog...plus, if his owner isn't found in a months' time (that's 2 weeks from today), I am going to have him neutered as soon as I can, and he has to have had his shots for that.
I am not taking him to my current vet, b/c I don't like her and never really have. I just found out that the office was bought out by another company and all their rates have almost doubled.....which was plenty of fuel for me not wanting to go there anyway. So now I have to find a new vet and get them both in. Our low cost vaccination and neutering clinic (which is very good; I'm on their auxiliary and have done some volunteer work there) is where I'm taking him.
I just haven't had time to go chat with vets lately and don't want to get this one started with my old vet.
