Well I guess to "each his own". I don't have much of an opinion on the ear piercing issue but like someone said it can't hurt more than docking or shots. I think some people would think tatooing your dog is wrong but It might very well someday save its life or injecting a micro chip for identification. I'm not saying an earing would save its life. The thing I would worry about is if the dog would scratch at it and rip it or get an infection. I like the diamond tennis bracelet idea as a collar.
