I am a clean freak too, but I worry about harmful chemicals around my yorkies. I am also a groomer in a busy shop. I now use a steam cleaner on everything. Steam will kill germs and parasites. I steam clean the pets bedding beofre I wash it, I steam my floors, walls, crates, and most of my grooming equipment. You can get a small steam cleaner (scunci brand) at most wal-mart, target, meiger type stores...even some drug stores carry them (Walgreens, CVS)
It is safe and effective.
