I only use bleach about once a month to clean the pad area. In between bleach cleanings I use method lavander because it smells soooo good
Also for carpets I use Meyers clean day. Like bleach and method it is safe to use around kids and pets and again the scents are wonderful! Cleaning is less of a chore! Good luck!
