warm room will help of course, ,but the pups need to be really warm,, Me personally,, I'd return it ASAP and exchange for one without the auto shut off,, (its to prevent the elderly from injuring themselves) but doesnt DO for our tiny babies, Cricket slept with her heating pad til she was 6 months old and it was July in Texas,,but with us needing AC,, she needed some warm that long..
